Netbooks Vs. Notebooks

The showdown.  Netbook Vs. Notebook.  Both have their advantages, but do you know the key differences?  Let us walk you through and help you chose the right one for you.

Introducing the challenger-weighing in at 3 pounds, with a screen size of 10 inches, packing 1GB of RAM and a whopping 160GB hard drive, with a fighting record of 1 win, 2 losses, and 1 tie, the netbook.  The netbook is missing a cd drive, and has a lower clocked processor, but what it lacks in size and power it makes up for in battery life and weight.  The netbook can be a lifesaver–light, convenient, and ultra-portable.  Often included is a webcam and bluetooth, the netbook is ready to rock right out the box and includes a full version of Microsoft Windows and wireless capabilities.  With very little room for upgrades and often set prices ($270-$360, what you see when you buy is what you get.

Introducing the reigning champion–weighing in at 6.7 pounds, with a screen size of 15.4 inches, packing 4GB of RAM and a huge 500GB hard drive, with a fighting record of 14 wins, 1 loss, ans 1 tie, the laptop.  The laptop–its only competition for years was a desktop; then came tablets; then came netbooks and iPads.  Laptops are chosen for portability, power, and capabilities.  From making movies to burning discs–the laptop can hang with the biggest and baddest desktops.  Unlike the netbook, the laptop can be fully customizable and can range in price from $299 to $10,000, there’s nothing a laptop can’t do that a netbook can do and not much that a noteback can’t do that a desktop can do.

So, which one is right for you?  Well, you will have to decide.  It all comes down to 2 things. 1( what do you want your computer to do? 2) how much do you want to spend?  Netbooks tend to be the perfect companion for users that are looking for something light and affordable.  Laptops, on the other hand, can become your desktop and laptop in one and are for users who don’t mind price and want specific features.

The winner of this match—–the laptop! (just kiddin 😉

Hope this post helps you when you need to decide between a netbook and a laptop
